Man ~ what is the world coming to ?
Suddenly felt like blogging abt this.
That day, i was reading Xiaxue's blog, and came across the term , "foie gras". Apparently i did not kno what it means, and being the typical kpo i'm, went to google the word. Look what i found,
Foie gras (translated literally from French as "fatty liver" and pronounced 'fwah grah') is produced by cruel and inhumane farming practices. At just a few months old, ducks are confined inside dark sheds and force-fed enormous amounts of food several times a day. A farm worker grabs each duck and, one by one, thrusts a metal pipe down their throats so that a mixture of corn can be forced directly into their gullets. In just a matter of weeks, the ducks become grossly overweight and their livers expand up to 10 times their normal size.
As a result, ducks raised for foie gras have difficulty standing, walking, and even breathing. Many of them die before the end of the force-feeding cycle, and the mortality rate for ducks raised on foie gras farms is among the highest in the farming industry. Necropsies performed on foie gras ducks have shown extreme obesity, impaction of undigested food in the esophagus, lacerations in the throat, and a proliferation of bacterial and fungal growth in their upper digestive tracts.

It's so cruel ! Cruelty is all around us.
Like in Korea, people kill and eat dogs. They do not slaughter the dog, they hang it up and whack the poor whining dog to death. Claiming it makes the meat juicier and more tender. Over 2000 dogs are tortured to death each day in the markets of south korea.
Cats, worse. Boiled alive. The cat is put into a big pot of herbal broth and boiled alive, while it struggles and cries fruitlessly for help, slowly being cooked alive. WhatTheFUCK? What is wrong with those ppl ? I rather they slaughter them ! Then to die in such a way. For tenderness and juiciness ? Fucking nonsense. Those sinners should die a 1000 times!
I've heard of many horror stories abt such cruelty to animals. U might argue, they are just animals. But they can feel pain too ! They are supposed to be our friends, they did nothing wrong to us! for some selfish reason like juicier meat, human choose to let them suffer excruciating pain before death.
ARGH. I get goose pimples when i read something so inhuman.
I guess you all read all about the bonsai kittens in friendster ? If not, then it is actually a live kitten, extracted frm the mother's stomach, put into a small shaped bottle(got many shapes). Then it is left to grow, fed by a thin straw. Of coz as it grows bigger, it bone structure starts to painfully grow into the shape of the bottle, being forced as there's only this little space to grow. The kitten grows into a cat the shape of the bottle (ouch !), has never moved in it's entire life before, has never breathe fresh air, stuck in it's bottle, as a decorative item. It's a popular sovenirs in places like tokyo, newyork ect.
I duno what to say. All i can say is, the first few nights after i read abt it, i couldnt sleep well at all.
Cats handbag.(How come so many on cats ? hah.) The cat is painfully skinned alive, in a factory. A slit is cut on their necks and the skin is tore away from their bodies while the cat screams and shrieks.
I feel like crying now.
I can type no more, the fierce anger i had before i embark on writing this post has become a weak squirmish feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Oh, and not to eat foie gras.
